What is success to you?

By Phyllis Boulton

What is your definition of a successful person?  Is it someone who is financially comfortable or wealthy?  Is someone who has many possessions or is it someone who achieves records or wins awards?  Is it someone who has a family and home that they can be proud of or is it someone who has a large circle of friends?  Is it someone who can do just about anything? Is it YOU?

If you answered that you are a successful person, then I would assume you likely have made some decisions in your life.  Ones I am sure that have brought you some satisfying results if not a wonderful feeling.  I bet it felt good to make those decisions and see such positive results, too.

So why do we hesitate to have success? In my experience, people often want or wish for something but it is not a serious thought or proposal.  It has been just a passing thought about something unimaginable so no decision or serious action is made.  Why does the fear of success paralyze us from taking any action?  Why not turn that around now and take action to get your successes in life.  If you have to, plan for it, but definitely take action to get it.  After all, what have you got to lose?  You have everything to gain and nothing to lose!  Success … don’t just think about it … act on it … go out and get it! “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
